Customer Review: It's cute and it works, but......

This is one of those cameras that just begs you to buy it, and then you get home and realize you could have put your money to other things.
Let me put it this way---
What it is: A 1/3 scale or so replica of a 1928 Rollei, with little dials that don't work and knobs that don't do anything. You have to crank the camera "to set it up for the next shot." In other words, they set it up so the shutter button is blocked on every shot and you have to crank it to go. The upper lens is just that, it's not a viewfinder, and the LCD display is like a first generation display, the contrast is up so high I can barely see what's on it.
It will take pictures, and at 2MP the 32mb card included will hold about 80 shots. Under the right conditions, bright light and holding the camera steady, it'll take serviceable snapshot pictures, but that's about it.
Am I disappointed? A little, I would like to have seen more functions, and an upper viewfinder lens that worked. The useless knobs and dials make me feel like I'm playing with a toy, which is essentially what it is.
That said, here's what they should have built: A full size Rollei replica that would work with original lenses, had a fully functional viewfinder, an APS class (the size in DSLR's) sensor, and a little LCD hidden in the back. In other words, a real camera with everything that worked. If it had to be manually cranked, then stick it with a manual shutter.
As it is, this is an interesting gift/conversation piece, but that's about it.
